Welcome to PreConnect. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PreConnect ("the Service"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

PreConnect is a web application designed to help BRAC University students with academic planning, course scheduling, seat availability tracking, and related educational tools. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for informational and personal use only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using PreConnect, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may sign in using your Google account. When you do so:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree not to share your account or allow others to access your account on your behalf.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or computer systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without our express permission.
• Upload, transmit, or distribute any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or engage in any form of bullying or discrimination.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use the Service for any commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PreConnect and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Course data, schedules, and related academic information displayed on PreConnect may be sourced from BRAC University or other third parties and remains the property of their respective owners.

7. User Content

When you upload or submit content to the Service (such as documents for plagiarism checking):

• You retain ownership of your content.
• You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
• You represent that you have the right to upload such content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights.
• We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content and will not use it for purposes beyond providing the requested service.

8. Plagiarism Checking Service

If you use our plagiarism checking service:

• The service is provided for personal academic use only to help you check your own work.
• You are solely responsible for how you use the results of plagiarism checks.
• We are not responsible for any academic consequences arising from your use of this service.
• Uploading content you do not own or have rights to submit may violate these terms and applicable laws.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• The information provided (including course schedules, seat availability, exam dates) is accurate, complete, or current.
• Any defects in the Service will be corrected.

You acknowledge that academic information may change without notice and you should always verify important information through official BRAC University channels.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRECONNECT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or academic opportunities
• Errors in course registration or scheduling
• Reliance on inaccurate information displayed on the Service
• Any unauthorized access to your account
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PreConnect, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

15. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Google Firebase (authentication and backend services)
• Cloudflare (hosting and CDN)
• Google AdSense (advertising)
• Turnitin (plagiarism detection - if applicable)

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
